GARR-T, TeRABIT and ICSC: three projects for a unified national network

Three distinct interventions for a single, high-speed national network. This is what GARR is working on to provide Italian researchers with the utmost potential in network connections.

Claudia Battista, director of GARR, outlines participation in two significant initiatives funded by the PNRR on GARR News: ICSC, aimed at creating cutting-edge infrastructure for High Performance Computing and big data management, and TeRABIT, which aims to unify PRACE, HPC-BD-AI, and GARR-T infrastructures, ensuring a uniform and optimized distribution of resources.

These interventions are harmonious with each other and complementary to the GARR-T network designed and implemented with the best existing technologies. Among the highlighted aspects is the adoption of automation, which will promote the reproducibility of workflows and the reusability of code and data, fostering a FAIR approach to scientific research.
