On 18 and 19 March, the TeRABIT User Meeting took place online, bringing together users of the project (researchers, technologists, PhD candidates and Master’s students). The event was organised by OGS with the support of CINECA and INFN. Around 20 participants attended, including Principal Investigator Mauro Campanella (GARR-INFN), Research Infrastructure Manager Silvia Calegari (INFN-CNAF), Stefano Salon (OGS) and Chiara Scaini (OGS). The meeting aimed to align tutors and the user group, as well as to share perspectives on the sustainability of activities beyond the end of the project.
During the meeting, Mauro Campanella presented the main outcomes of the project and the current status of the TeRABIT infrastructure, highlighting its role between local computing systems and Tier-0 facilities such as Leonardo, as well as the challenges linked to the evolution of AI and the fast dynamics associated with hardware components.
Users of the TeRABIT infrastructure also presented the results of their projects, previously showcased during the final event in Bologna, reporting positive feedback on access to resources. Among the use cases discussed, the UrgentShake pilot was highlighted as a replicable workflow with potential real-world applications for society.
